What is the AIP?
The autoimmune protocol is a diet and lifestyle designed specifically for people with autoimmune disease. Autoimmune disease happens when your immune system mistakes your own tissue for foreign invaders and attacks in full force. Which body systems get attacked determine which autoimmune diseases you’re diagnosed with, but all of them share a root cause: That rogue immune system.
Based on the latest in biomedical science, the autoimmune protocol is designed to soothe the immune system and allow the body to heal. It’s a temporary elimination diet, not a life sentence, but it also encompasses other beneficial lifestyle factors like sleep, exercise, mindset, and socializing. At A Clean Plate, it’s my mission to show you that your time on the AIP can be an exciting foray into new flavors, healthier comfort foods, and a happier you.
Whether you want to learn more about the autoimmune protocol or dive right in with meal plans and cookbooks, these are the resources I used along the way to keep my kitchen organized, exciting, and healthy.
When you cook most of your meals from scratch, a well-stocked kitchen can feel like a life-saver. These tools will save you time and energy so you can get your healthy food to the table with minimal fuss.
